Brian Lawson is a Senior Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Brookfield Asset Management. In that role, he is responsible for Brookfield's global finance, treasury and risk management functions. He also sits on a number of its investment committees.
Since joining Brookfield in 1988, Mr. Lawson has held a number of senior management positions in Brookfield’s investment and finance operations before assuming his current role in 2002.
Mr. Lawson was named Canada’s CFO of the Year in 2013 by PwC, FEI Canada and Robert Half International.
Mr. Lawson is a member of the Governing Council of the University of Toronto and is Chair of the Trinity College School Foundation. He and his wife are involved in several philanthropic efforts focused on reducing chronic disease through improved nutrition, including being founding sponsors of the Centre for Child Nutrition and Health at the University of Toronto, and supporters of Community Food Centers Canada, of which Mr. Lawson is a director.
